The Canton Cheerleading Program consists of a Freshman, JV and Varsity squad who cheer at all home football games. The Varsity team cheers at all away games as well. During the winter season the program consists of Varsity and JV Competitive cheer teams who compete in about 10-12 competitions throughout the season as well as cheer at a select amount of home basketball games.
Canton Cheerleading teams practice 3 days a week in the evenings during football season and the competitive teams practice 5 days a week. In order to be successful in our program a strong commitment is needed as well as a good work ethic and a strong desire to push yourself to the next level.
The competitive cheer program was established at Canton during the 2008-2009 school year. In that year they exceeded all expectations as a first year team. The 2009-2010 season proved to be an amazing one, with the team placing 3rd at Districts and qualifying for Regionals in only the program's second year of existence! We are looking forward to another successful season in 2010-2011!!
